Joey Arrigo

Joey Arrigo is a dancer, acrobat, actor and teacher from the Greater Toronto Area.He started as a young dancer at the age of 3 and quickly became inspired to grow as a well-rounded performer.


Joey was most recently on tour with Cirque du Soleil’s VOLTA as the principal character of “Waz”.  He was, also, part of Cirque du Soleil’s KOOZA as “the trickster”.


Joey was featured on 90.7 FM Los Angeles IMRU Radio with Michael Taylor Gray on his segment “Storytellers”. Joey was on faculty with JUMP Dance Convention and was a member of Shaping Sound Dance Company’s first national tour in 2013.


Since 2015, Joey has worked with Acrobatic Arts in creating tutorials for Acrobatic Dance found on Youtube, Instagram and for The Acrobatics Arts Training Program.


He was one of Canada’s Top 20 dancers on CTV’s “So You Think You Can Dance Canada”, and soon after, went onto to perform for Ukraine’s “Everybody Dance”. Joey was a choreographer’s assistant to Mia Michaels on So You Think You Can Dance Canada, seasons 1, 2, and 3.


In 2012, Joey was on a world tour with Rasta Thomas and the Bad Boys of Dance. As well as holding multiple national titles for Dance Masters of America, Joey was the 2010 Senior National VIP for JUMP Dance Convention.


He has choreographed and taught at numerous dance studios all over Canada, The United States, Europe and also Australia.


Joey is currently at student at Toronto Film School studying Acting for Film and Television.

Roger Van der Poel

Roger Van der Poel was born in Portimão, Portugal. Portuguese/Dutch dancer, Roger received his dance training at the Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional in Lisbon. He worked for the Ballet Gulbenkian (2003-2004), Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève (2004-2006) and joined Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) 2 in 2006. He started dancing for NDT 1 in August 2009. Since he joined NDT 2 he performed works by many NDT choreographers, such as Jiří Kylián, Sol León and Paul Lightfoot, Crystal Pite, William Forsythe, Hans van Manen, Marco Goecke, Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier.


Since 2011 he is a regular teacher for the NDT Summer Intensive and NDT Open Studio and has made guest appearances as a teacher in dance studios and dance schools in Europe, Canada and the United States. Since 2014 he has become regular faculty for chuthis. movement intensive and chuthis. Moves in North America. He has been teaching NDT repertoire at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and re-mounted León/Lightfoot’s Sleight of Hand with Ballet Zurich and Norwegian National Ballet.

Misha Tchoupakov

Born and raised in Moscow, Russia, Misha Tchoupakov has performed with the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow as well as Colorado Ballet, Sarasota Ballet of Florida, Los Angeles Classical Ballet, San Francisco Opera Ballet in the U.S. and Vienna State Opera Ballet in Austria.


He also holds an M.F.A. in Dance Pedagogy and Choreography from the Moscow State Academy of Choreography and he has taught for Colorado Ballet, Houston Ballet, Oregon Dance Theatre, State Street Ballet, Ballet Arlington in the U.S.; Tokyo City Ballet in Japan; Guangzhou Ballet in China; Galili Dance in the Netherlands; Cluj Opera Ballet and Sibiu Ballet Theatre in Romania; Cia Brasileira de Ballet and Teatro Municipal do Rio De Janeiro in Brazil; Ballet Nacional Sodre in Uruguay; and Tivoli Ballet Theater in Denmark.


He was also on the faculty of the Royal Ballet School, the Elmhurst School for Dance in Association with Birmingham Royal Ballet, and the English National Ballet School in the UK and served as Assistant Professor at the University of Utah Department of Ballet.


Mr. Tchoupakov has been a member of the jury for many prestigious Dance competitions around the world, such as PBK Ballet Competition in Kyoto, Japan; Domenico Modugno International Ballet and Contemporary Dance Competition in Lecce, Italy; FEDIFEST in Santos City, Brazil; La Stella di Domani in Catania, Italy; Salieri Danza in Verona, Italy and Playa del Carmen Dance Competition in Cancun, Mexico to name just a few.


For the past 20 seasons, he has worked with YAGP Ballet and Contemporary Dance Competition in New York as Rehearsal Director, Judge and Master Teacher and he is an internationally renowned guest teacher.


Since 2013 Mr. Tchoupakov serves as Associate Professor of Ballet on the faculty of School of Dance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Rosanna Brocanello

Born in Genoa, she trained at the dance school of Giannina Censi, a well-known dancer of Futurist dances. She continued her studies with Rossella Hightower, M. Miskovitch, Victor Rona, completing her classical training with Riccardo Nunez. She learned the Graham technique with Elsa Piperno and Joseph Fontano.


She danced for the first time at the International Festival of Nervi with the London Festival Ballet in The Nutcracker.

She returned to the International Festival of Nervi with the Off Jazz Dance Company, directed by Gianin Loringett and again with Louis Falco Dance Company in New York in a work produced by the International Festival of Nervi which toured all over Europe.


She worked with choreographers such as Matt Mattox, Peter Goss, then in Paris with Kim Kam (Limon technique), she also collaborated on the choreography of the musical comedy "Musical" with the group of Teatro Stabile di Genova directed by Gian Maria Volonté.


In 1984 she moved to Florence where she founded and directed the company Hot Jazz Dance, which later became Opus Ballet, developing a new choreographic language, the result of deep research in the field of modern and contemporary dance. She collaborated with the Police drummer, Stewart Copeland, for the creation of the ballet “Il grande amico Meaulness". She taught and directed modern dance courses at the Florence Dance Center School of Marga Nativo and Keith Ferrone in Florence.

In 1999 she founded the Opus Ballet Cultural Association and she is currently the artistic director of COB Opus Ballet Company.


From 2000 to 2004 she co-directed the Toscana Dance/School Association, home of the Balletto di Toscana School directed by Cristina Bozzolini, then in 2004, with Daniel Tinazzi, she founded and co-directed the International Dance and Performing Arts Centre OPUS BALLET in Florence.

She takes STAGE and Courses for dance teachers all over Italy and abroad and she is invited as a jury member to international choreographic competitions.
